Guajimico means in the language of the aborigines “The place for fishes” and it describes one of its main attractions: the sub-marine fauna that surpasses the expectations of the most prolific imagination of diving and nature lovers.
Villa Guajimico has its own international diving center with courses for amateurs and professionals. Other nautical sports such as Kayaking, Catamaran sailing, and others, allow the visitor to enjoy fully the local maritime life.
Guajimico is located on the coastal foothills of the impressive Guamuhaya massif, one of the most complete ecosystems of Cuba. Trekking possibilies are many, a highlight of which is the cave known as Cueva de la Virgen (Virgin Cavern), a place full of stories and legends from pirates and corsairs.
Then of course you are midway between two of the Caribbean's most beautiful and historically important colonial cities, Cienfuegos and Trinidad. The later was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site in 1988, along with the Valle de los Ingenios.

Yaguanabo can be enjoyed from small but comfortable cabanas (operated by Islazul) in a protective screen of vegetation. Here, you can relax in peace and quiet broken only by the squabbling of local birds and the soothing sound of the river.
