Family Hotels
The Hotel Villa La Granjita is set in handsome grounds amid groves of Royal palms, about two miles northeast of town, and is a twin image of the Villa Los Caneyes, on the other side of town. The architecture is inspired by the indigenous style and includes rooms in two-story thatched duplex sextagonal cabins. Occasional tour groups make use of it, but less so than Los Caneyes, and the upside here is the quietude.

The wood-paneled accommodations have simple hardwood furniture and pink fabrics. Some rooms are in a modern blocks. All are air-conditioned and furnished with satellite TV, telephone, and modern bathroom with marble counter-top. They're functional and somewhat homey, and the second-rate mattresses might give some patrons back-ache, but overall rooms are adequate for at least one night's stay.

Entertainment staff perform cabarets by the handsome pool and sundeck, fitted with thatched umbrellas. The restaurant has glass walls overlooking the pool and features handsome contemporary artwork inspired by the Taíno Indian theme. There's also a small snack bar, and a tiny store. Horse-riding is a specialty here.

La Granjita hotel was renovated in 2006 and features a terrace, a garden, and a total of 80 rooms, of which 71 are standard double rooms, 5 are rooms accommodating three people, 3 are single rooms and one is a junior suite.

Granjita's facilities include a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a safe and a currency exchange desk. Inside the air-conditioned hotel there is a kiosk, a theatre, a games room, a cafe, a bar, 2 restaurants, public Internet access (for a charge), and a number of conference facilities. Laundry facilities are on offer for an additional fee. Younger guests are able to play in the playground. There is parking available for those arriving by car.

Guide to Santa Clara
A buzzing provincial town, with a pleasant Parque Central, Santa Clara is most famous for its connection with Che Guevara, whose attack on a Batista troop train in the city in December 1958 helped persuade the dictator that his days were numbered.
This provincial capital is well worth visiting, beyond the suburbs you'll find a buzzing place with streets lively with people going about their daily lives, and the city benefits from having a large student population. The centre seems well looked after and relatively litter-free. A startling sight to anyone arriving from Havana.
There are some interesting museums worth taking in and the small brick red-tiled houses lend themselves to an atmosphere of calm and discretion. For most people the area Parque Vidal is the most eventful place in the city, as well as being the geographical heart of the city, it is also its social centre and there is usually some sort of entertainment going on at weekends. A monument marks the spot where revolutionary hero Leoncio Vidal was killed , and benches line the promenades that cross and circle the park. On the plaza's north.
