The 3 star Villa Tarara is in a complex located on Tarara Beach just east of Havana, it is the ideal site for relaxation. It has the most prestine white sandy beach near Havana city. It also has its own marina (Marina Tarara) for fishing (including Marlin), scuba diving (with wreck)... Motorcycles and scooters available. There is an excellent Restaurant and bar with swimming pool open to all.

As an currently on-going project many of the villas were newly renovated and refurbished by the end of 2004.

The enclosed resort is open to all tourists and Cubans, but all are required to sign-in at the main gate. This is a deterent to some, so ensuring that the beach is always far from over-crowded, but still having a good mix of Cuban and International tourists.

The Tarara resort is most definately a beautiful and peaceful place, and so can not be considered "lively". Although it does pick-up a bit a weekends. If you want nightlife, then Havana City, which has one of world's coolest, hotest and craziest, is only 20 mins away by road.
