About Hotel Gran Caribe Club Cayo Largo
Hotel Gran Caribe Club Cayo Largo, is a complex formed of 3 hotels: Villa Coral, Villa Soledad and Club Isla del Sur. The three contiguous units differ in style, although they form a daisy chain along half a mile of gorgeous Playa Lindamar. Together they cater to the budget end of the spectrum and win no prizes for either decor or ambience.
The main complex is the Club Isla del Sur. The plain architecture is enlivened by bold tropical ice cream colors (papaya, mango, lime). Accommodations, for example, feature tricolored ceramic floors (white, gray, and yellow) and yellow-and-blue combo decor. The beds win no prizes for comforts, but rooms have a modicum of modern conveniences, including satellite TV. The smaller Club Coral and Club Soledad units feature utilitarian furniture in salmon and pea-soup green color schemes. Canned entertainment is laid on, watersports include beach volleyball and Hobi-Cats, and there's a kid's club with playground. It is charming, quaint accommodation that is ideal for the budget minded traveller. If you have some more money to throw around, treat yourself to the more upscale Sol Meliá properties nearby. Club Cayo Largo hotel is located on the beach, 15 minutes to downtown Cayo Largo and 10 minutes from the airport. Guide to Cayo Largo del Sur
Cayo Largo del Sur, also known simply as Cayo Largo, although only a relatively small 17 miles (27 Km) long island it is blessed with an almost continuous stretch of pretty beach, notably along its south coast. There are six beaches all of which will be able to satisfy your sun and sand lust: Playa Sirena, Playa Lindaman, Playa Blanca, Playa los Cocos, Playa Tortuga and Playa Luna.
But as if surrounding it with fine white sands was not enough. Cayo Largo was given the gift of being eternally caressed by clear and gentle water of incredible hues of blue. When you finally arrive in Cayo Largo you will be surprised to find a natural environment that practically has not changed at all since the world began.
There is an abundance of natural wildlife including iguanas and giant sea turtles. Close by is a small group of islets, the best known of which is Cayo Iguana. The protected coral reef around the island makes for good diving, the reef itself stretches for more than 30km and includes the rare and protected black coral.
