About Hotel Encanto San Basilio

Hotel Encanto San Basilio is in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in Cuba. The building was originally built in the second decade of XX century and after full refurbishment was re-opened in July 2003. San Basilio stands in the privileged location, in the street that gives the name to the hotel and is recommended for budget travellers!

Hotel San Basilio has large windows, fine blacksmith shop and double stairs and a small balcony to the centre. 8 rooms and a small restaurant are decorated with furniture and elements in correspondence with the architecture of the building. About 15 very professional workers offer the services and do their best so to satisfy the guests.

San Basilio Hotel also welcomes external clients who would like to have a drink or some food at the restaurant or lobby bar.

Excellent petit hôtel, avec beaucoup de charme et très tranquille, bien qu'en plein centre de Santiago.<br>Jolies chambres décorées avec goût, comme l'hôtel.<br>Un endroit où on se sent bien et où on a envie de revenir.

Guide to Santiago de Cuba City

Cuba's second city is hot, hilly and exhausting but at the same time seductively languid. Built on a sequence of hills overlooking a large bay with the Sierra Maestra in the background, it is certainly one of Cuba's most picturesque cities. Its colourful streets sweep up and down steep hills, making walking through the city, although pleasant, a little tiring if done in long stretches.

Santiago City has a singular vibrancy, its predominantly mulatto people, a mix of Spanish, French from Haiti and huge numbers of Africans, are persistently friendly. And their reason for being is music and dance.

Santiago de Cuba has plenty to offer for sightseers, blessed as it is with a host of interesting museums, buildings and places.. including the Moncada Barracks, Emilio Bacardi Museum, The Cathedral, Morro Castle, La Maison and Calle Heredia
