This hotel isn’t smart or luxurious and leaves quite a lot to be desired on the aesthetic front, but it has one of the best views in Havana. It overlooks the wide sweep of the Malecon, a huge expanse of ocean and the romantic Morro Castle and its famous lighthouse.

The lobby is painted in tones of peach and terracotta and has rather loathsome sixties-style banquettes. The semi-pornographic wooden sculptures flanking the front desk certainly take one’s mind off check-in delays but can provoke embarrassing questions from outspoken offspring.
Hotel has been very recently renovated. It is, excellently located for exploration of Old and modern Havana and there are good views of the city from its rooftop pool terrace.

On the first floor there is a restaurant called “Carta Nostra”, stylishly decorated with tables facing the sea.

Hotel BelleVue Deauville was formerly known as Hotel Hotetur Deauville.

The hotel is still operated by Spanish company Hotetur, although ownership was recently transfered from Horizontes to Gran Caribe.

Guide to Central Havana
Along with Habana Vieja, Centro Habana is the most populated and overcrowded part of the city. It is a tumbledown residential / commercial area, the city's main shopping street, Calle San Rafael, traverses it from the Parque Central westwards. The large Partagas tobacco factory, directly behind the Capitolio, is the biggest export factory in the country, with 200 rollers turning out 5 million cigars a year.

Walking around this area you understand why Havana is sometimes referred to as a City of Columns; almost every buildings displays either one or a mixture of the Corinthian, Doric or Ionic types of this structure.
